1. Energy Resource Information Centre<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n
The Energy Resource Information Centre\u00a0promotes the natural gas industry and provides a fact based, evidence led source of information about natural gas exploration and development.<\/p>\n
2. Energy in Depth<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n
Launched by the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA)<\/a> in 2009, Energy In Depth (EID) is a research, education and public outreach campaign focused on getting the facts out about the promise and potential of responsibly developing America\u2019s onshore energy resource base \u2013 especially abundant sources of oil and natural gas from shale and other \u201ctight\u201d reservoirs across the country.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s an effort that benefits directly from the support, guidance and technical insight of a broad segment of America\u2019s oil and natural gas industry, led in Washington by IPAA, but directed on the ground by our many affiliates \u2014 and IPAA\u2019s more than 6,000 members \u2014 in the states.<\/p>\n
3. APPEA<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n
The Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association Ltd (APPEA) is the peak national body representing Australia\u2019s upstream oil and gas exploration and production industry.<\/p>\n
The Association has more than 80 full member companies, all of which are oil and gas explorers and producers active in Australia. These companies account for an estimated 98 per cent of the nation\u2019s petroleum production. APPEA also represents more than 220 associate member companies that provide a wide range of goods and services to the upstream oil and gas industry.<\/p>\n
APPEA works with Australia\u2019s national, state and territory governments to ensure the country\u2019s regulatory and commercial framework promotes investment and maximises the return to the Australian industry and community from developing the nation\u2019s oil and gas resources. APPEA aims to secure conditions that enable member companies to operate safely, sustainably and profitably.<\/p>\n
The Association also seeks to increase community and government understanding of the upstream petroleum industry by publishing information about the sector\u2019s activities and economic importance to the nation. In addition, APPEA hosts several conferences each year to exchange ideas and contribute to the development of the industry\u2019s policy positions.<\/p>\n
4. The Department of Mines and Petroleum (Western Australia)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n
The Department of Mines and Petroleum (DMP) is the State\u2019s lead agency in attracting private investment in resources exploration and development through the provision of geoscientific information on minerals and energy resources, and management of an equitable and secure titles systems for the mining, petroleum and geothermal industries.<\/p>\n
It also carries prime responsibility for regulating these extractive industries and dangerous goods in Western Australia, including the collection of royalties, and ensuring that safety, health and environmental standards are consistent with relevant State and Commonwealth legislation, regulations and policies.<\/p>\n
5. Shale Gas in Australia<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Western Australia\u2019s onshore gas resources have the potential to transform the State\u2019s energy industry.<\/p>\n
The onshore gas industry in Western Australia is exploring prospects for tight gas and shale gas resources to deliver new energy options for households and industry – and expand sources of the natural gas we\u2019ve been using for four decades.<\/p>\n
If these exploration programs are successful, new gas resources will drive the State\u2019s economic growth for the next generation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
