Our Approach

New Standard Energy’s approach to exploration and development of the Canning Basin is based on the following principles:

Rigorous and Systematic Exploration Approach

Defined Parameters

Our Strong Technical Team

In structuring our Board we have focused heavily on developing a team with a sound technical background. Two of the three NSE Board Members are proven oil finders with substantial exploration and development expertise.

NSE Technical Director, Dr Mark Hagan, has in excess of 35 years industry experience and has spent 2 years researching all previous activity in the Canning Basin and developing a rigorous plan for NSE’s exploration activity. Non-Executive Chairman, Mr Ian Paton , also has in excess of 30 years industry experience and is currently working as an International Petroleum Consultant and has previously identified and developed significant oil discoveries from exploration in the Timor Sea, Turkey, South Australia and the NW Shelf.

These in-house skills and experience, when combined with the technical capabilities of fellow Canning Basin exxplorer Buru Energy Ltd (Buru), provide a strong fundamental platform from which small explorers can efficiently and systematically explore the Canning Basin.

Reducing Risk

Australian Partnerships

NSE is fortunate to have a close working relationship with its farm-in partner and Canning Basin neighbour Buru. NSE's partnership with Buru is close. NSE currently has a strategic 10% equity interest in Buru and is working very closely with Buru under a technical services agreement to progress the Acacia Fairway, whilst Buru is also a 35% JV partner in EP417.

US Partnerships

NSE has acquired an interest is the Colorado County Project along side fellow ASX listed emplorer Burleson Energy Ltd (ASX>BUR) and US based operator AKG Energy. These partnerships have helped reduce operational, financial and technical risk associated with US based exploration.
