New Standard’s Australian portfolio is currently focused on high risk, high reward onshore exploration targets within its vast Canning Basin acreage. The Canning Basin offers a significant upside potential in a proven but under-explored frontier petroleum system.

New Standard holds the second largest exploration footprint in the Canning Basin, and plans to complete the Lawford 1 well drilling in 2010.
The Company also owns 10% of Buru Energy, the Canning Basin’s largest explorer, providing New Standard direct exposure to additional Buru Energy production revenue and drilling success.

NSE owns a 32.5% working interest in the Colorado County onshore project in Texas, US. A substantial six well drilling program, targeting high volume Wilcox prospects, has been planned for the Colorado County project throughout 2010.

The region is one of the world’s most prolific onshore hydrocarbon production regions and substantial existing infrastructure provides a short pathway to production on drilling success.
